There are two brazilian portuguese words with no direct translation to english. Both are inherited from african bantu languages:
- Dengo (from the kikongo "ndengo"): when someone acts tenderly to draw attention
- Cafuné (from the kimbundu "kifune"): caressing one's head, running the fingers through the hair
