*צור משלו*

שיר זה מבוסס על *ברכת המזון*, ומחברו לא ידוע. ארבעת הבתים שלו מבוססים על ארבע הברכות של ברכת המזון. השיר מברך את הקב"ה (צור) על כך שכל האוכל שיש לנו, מגיע ממנו (משלו אכלנו), ומהווה מעין *הקדמה* לברכת המזון (מתוך "הלכה ממקורה - ברכת המזון וזמירות שבת" של *הרב יוסף צבי רימון*).

פרשתנו, פרשת עקב, מעלה על נס את מעלות ארץ ישראל. ברכת המזון, אף היא ברכה על ארץ ישראל: "וְאָכַלְתָּ וְשָׂבָעְתָּ וּבֵרַכְתָּ אֶת ה' אֱ-לֹהֶיךָ *עַל הָאָרֶץ הַטֹּבָה אֲשֶׁר נָתַן לָךְ.*"
אנו מודים לה' שזכינו להיכנס לארץ, לנצח במלחמות מול אויבינו, וזכינו לאכול מתוצרת הארץ. "בְּשִׁיר וְקוֹל תּוֹדָה נְבָרֵךְ לֵא-לֹהֵינוּ עַל אֶרֶץ חֶמְדָּה טוֹבָה שֶׁהִנְחִיל לַאֲבוֹתֵינוּ".

זכינו לחיות בדור שבו *גיבורינו, חיילי צה"ל*, ממשיכים את משה רבינו ויהושע בן-נון, שלחמו על ארצנו הקדושה ואפשרו לנו לחיות בה ולהנות מפרי אדמתה, ולברך ברכת המזון בארץ כפי שרק יכלו לחלום עליו אבותינו.

*Tzur Mishelo*

This song is based on *Birkat Hamazon*, and its composer is unknown. Each of its four stanzas corresponds to one of the four stanzas of Birkat Hamazon.
In the song we praise Hashem (“Tzur”, our rock) for the food we receive from Him (“Mishelo achalnu”), and is thus a fitting preface to Birkat Hamazon (From “Halacha from the Sources - Birkat Hamazon and Zemirot Shabbat” by *Rabbi Yosef Tzvi Rimon*).

Our parasha, Parashat Eikev, emphasizes the virtues of the Land of Israel. Birkat HaMazon, too, is a blessing over the Land of Israel: “And you shall eat and be satisfied, and bless the Lord your God *for the good land which He has given you*.” (Devarim 8:10).

We thank Hashem for having merited to enter the Land, to be victorious in battles against our enemies, and to partake of the bounty of the land. “With song and voice of thanksgiving, we shall bless our God for the cherished, good land which He gave as an inheritance to our forefathers.”

We are privileged to live in a generation in which our heroes, *the soldiers of the IDF*, continue the legacy of Moshe Rabbeinu and Yehoshua bin Nun, who fought for our holy land and made it possible for us to live in it, enjoy the fruits of its soil, and recite Birkat HaMazon in the Land—something our forefathers could only dream of.
